We started ToolForge because we got tired of it. We're a small team of developers, designers, and marketers who use AI tools every day. We review the ones that earn their place in our stack, and we ignore the rest. No fluff, no padding, no BS.
Every tool on this site has been used by us for at least 30 days. Every review is updated quarterly. Every "best" pick has been stress-tested in real production workflows. If a tool doesn't earn its place, it doesn't get listed.
5 criteria every tool must pass to make the list
No tool is reviewed before we've used it for at least 30 days. We test in real workflows, not 5-minute demos.
Does the output actually hold up? We test edge cases, failure modes, and consistency across multiple uses.
We show actual cost, free tier limits, and where you'll hit paywalls. No hidden fees, no surprise charges.
AI moves fast. We only list tools that ship updates regularly. Abandoned products get cut.
We won't list tools with serious privacy issues, exploitative pricing, or harmful use cases — even if they're popular.
We cross-reference reviews on Reddit, Twitter, and product communities. If real users hate it, we don't list it.

Crucially: affiliate revenue does not influence our rankings or recommendations. We have, and will continue to, recommend tools that don't pay us affiliate commissions over tools that do, when the non-paying tool is better. The worst tool on this site is better than many tools that pay 50% recurring — because we don't list them.
If you find a tool on this site that doesn't live up to our review, please tell us. We'll re-test it, and if it falls short, we'll update the review or remove it entirely.
