Perplexity's AI-native browser that turns every page into a conversational research surface โ agent mode included.
Comet is Perplexity's Chromium-based browser, rebuilt around the assumption that you never want to 'just browse' โ you want answers, summaries, and actions. Every tab can be a chat with the page. An agent mode lets it click, navigate, and fill forms on your behalf. For researchers and knowledge workers, it shortens the loop from query to answer to action.
Who it's for: Researchers, students, and knowledge workers whose day is 40% reading pages they don't need to read. If you spend hours on documentation, news, or spec sheets, Comet cuts the time-to-answer in half.
Sidebar talks to the current page โ summarize, ask follow-ups, extract tables, translate, all without leaving the tab.
Give it a task ('book the cheapest flight to Tokyo next Friday') and watch it click, type, and navigate for you.
Ask 'compare the three laptops I opened' and it cross-references every relevant tab in your session.
Every new tab is a Perplexity query; citations are embedded by default.
Chromium-grade ad blocking with AI-readable page cleanup for cleaner extraction.
Start on phone, continue on desktop โ conversations and tabs follow you.
Comet is the first browser in years that made me reconsider what a browser is for. It's not 'Chrome with a chatbot' โ the sidebar-per-tab model and agent mode genuinely change how you research. It won't replace a privacy-hardened browser for sensitive work, but for day-to-day knowledge work it's the new default. Highly recommend for anyone whose job is reading-and-deciding.
